Golden State officially retired Hall of Famer Bill Russell`s No. 6 jersey during a ceremony prior to a 123-107 loss to his former team, Boston.


Russell wore the No. 6 overall pick for all 13 seasons with the Celtics from 1956 to 1969.


The legendary center who played for the University of San Francisco died on July 31 at the age of 88.
